Your personal identification number (PIN) is the secret code that, together with the library card, is required to access to some of the services and online procedures. For security reasons, it must be updated regularly.

Modify your PIN, if it has never been changed. You have to access to My Account with your library card ID and current PIN and click on the "Modify PIN" button. Note that the new key must have 8 or more characters and may contain letters and numbers.

Collections Highlights

Fantasy and Science Fiction Special Collections

Technologies that seem impossible, time travel, dystopian governments, fantastic creatures, galactic empires... Fantasy and Science Fiction works take us into other worlds, other realities, and our imagination flies at the speed of light...

This year marks the centenary of the birth of the Polish writer Stanislaw Lem, one of the greatest exponents of science fiction for works such as "Solaris", published in 1961 and twice adapted for the big screen. Another notable anniversary is the 75th anniversary of the death of the British H.G. Wells, creator of classics such as "The Time Machine" (1895) or "The War of the Worlds" (1898), and often cited as the "father of science fiction" along with Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback.

Can Peixauet Library in Santa Coloma de Gramenet has one of the largest special collections in science and fantasy on the libraries network, with more than de 5.000 documents in different media, which is being expanded with regular acquisitions of the most relevant novelties.

Another library that puts a science fiction collection at your disposal is Volpelleres-Miquel Batllori Library in Sant Cugat del Vallès, where you can find more than 1.300 documents, and it also organizes a reading club around this genre.

Finally, we also highlight the special collection of fantasy novels of the Sagrada Familia-Josep M. Ainaud de Lasarte Library in Barcelona, which houses more than 2.200 tittles and where you can find the called "Espai de cinema" per a joves, which has fantasy books brought to the screen.
